Doing 200 pushups a day really isn't going to do much to help you gain muscle over time. Muscles grow through overload, and everything I've read indicates high rep exercices are just going to bring about lots of lactic acid, which will be coutner-active to any gains. If you're gonna do pushups, try weighted ones, with a backpack on or something, for low reps.
Don't get me wrong, I think they're a great compliment to any exercise routine, but working out the same muscle group every day with loads of reps at a light weight is not, for most people, the most efficient way to get results.
