Daniel_: Definitely go with the Desire, it's the superior phone in pretty much every way.
Meditrina: If you want the new contract discount then yes, you have to wait until Jan 2011 (maybe a month or two earlier if you ask a sales rep). I wouldn't worry about missing the deal: by Jan 2011, the original Motorola Droid will be over a year old and it should be easy to find deals on it if it's still being sold. Technologically, by this summer every carrier will have at least one phone superior to the Droid, so who knows what the market will look like by January
Orchrist: If you're committed to Verizon, go with the Incredible. HTC's Sense UI is a great addition to Android, and it's not missing anything that the Nexus One has. If you're open to another network and can wait until June...

HTC's Sense UI puts some really nice lipstick on WinMo 6.5, but it's still WinMo 6.5. If you really like the HD2, wait until the summer for the HTC Evo 4G on Sprint - it's the HD2, with even better specs, and running Android.
