Sex started in our species, as in all others, as stricly a matter of procreation but has evolved into so much more than that.
While the old caveman instincts are not as prevelant now, it is still our burning instinct....to survive....and to survive you must have young.
In my heart...sex is the ultimate joining with someone. The way to give them everything inside of you, heart..body...and soul. Of course you run into your one-night-stands and whatnot. But I think sex means so much more to us than just producing babies....after all, if that were the case then there wouldn't be the number of abortions there are and there wouldn't be that much use for birth control.
Sex is pleasurable...plain and simple. It can be purely driven by the body or it can also be driven by the heart. I prefer the heart aspect myself!
