I once saw a college ice-hockey team take on a team of sled-hockey players, and everyone was on the sleds. The "handicapped" team won easily, and in fact, were told to make sure that the point spread never exceeded a certain amount. While they were waiting for the opportunity to score, they skated circles around the other team.
It's not about "performing at the same standards"... it is "performing to very high standards with different rules". Trust me, you couldn't keep up.
