I'm stilling going with STUPID. Loaded, unloaded- doesn't matter to me, a hand gun or any other weapon is not a toy. The whole thing is not funny, it's dumb.
And I agree with you... always, always assume it's loaded.
BTW- the only time I'm looking down the working end of a barrel is when cleaning it and it's removed from the rest of the weapon.
