well lots of printers can get close to film. Epson stylus photo is one, but it's slow and mine broke pretty quick. My Lexmark Z53 is a FAST printer (I'm not kidding. It's REALLY fast) and it prints very nicely. You'll have to get the special photo paper no matter what inkjet you buy.
If you want the highest quality, dye sublimation is the way to go, but that's EXPENSIVE. Color laser is also pretty pricey but the printing is excellent.
I'd stay away from Epson, HP, and canon printers as their reliability has been called into question.
