Start at CCNA, and work your way up.

think of aiming for the CCIE without some serious background in networking though.
Despite what everyone on this thread says, certifications help. Your experience is paramount though. Make sure to enumerate and detail your skills, achievements and responsibilities on your
Curriculum Vitae. Be honest. Don't exaggerate. It will be noticed.
