What, like ballads? Oh, I got ballads, my man. Also, as I said, that list is almost entirely love songs (ie, the lyrics describe being in love or related topics). If you're not too picky about what the song actually
says, that gives us a few more options.
I guess I should've picked up on that, since you listed Cryin', which is more about heartbreak and moving on. Anyway, let's see what I got...
The White Stripes - I Want to Be the Boy to Warm Your Mother's Heart
The Tragically Hip - Ahead By A Century, Bobcaygeon
The Smiths - Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want
The Rolling Stones - Ruby Tuesday
The Raconteurs - Together
The Fray - How To Save A Life
The Black Crowes - Thorn In My Pride, She Talks To Angels
Tenacious D - Fuck Her Gently (I don't think I'd be brave enough to put that on during sex, but it could be good for a laugh)
Stone Sour and/or Chris Isaak - Wicked Game
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
Santana featuring Everlast - Put Your Lights On
Queen - No One But You
Prince (or whatever the hell he's calling himself these days) - Purple Rain
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter, Black, possibly Better Man
Our Lady Peace - Clumsy
Meat Loaf - Two Out of Three Aint Bad, Heaven Can Wait
Led Zeppelin - All My Love, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
Jonny Lang - Breakin' Me
John Mayer - Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, Come Back to Bed, possibly 83
Hootie and the Blowfish - Let Her Cry
Hoobastank - To Be With You
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris, Name
Filter - Take A Picture
Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Counting Crows - Round Here, Raining in Baltimore, Anna Begins
Blue Oyster Cult - In Thee
Barenaked Ladies - When I Fall, What A Good Boy, Lovers in a Dangerous Time, Have You Seen My Love
And the quintessential love ballad, Poison - Every Rose Has It's Thorn
These aren't all love songs in the strictest sense, and some of them may be a little more upbeat than you're looking for. Some of them are harder or softer, more or less edgy. I think they all have the kind of atmosphere you're looking for, though. Regardless, if you can't something that appeals to you in one of these two lists, I don't think it's to be had.
