Anyways, one thing I've gotten out of this is that women are even more catty than I had originally thought. Not that I'm ignorant on the subject, mind you.
Dolores Haze brings up a good, painful and realistic point (or two). The jealous to secret character smashing ways of females are strange. Guys don't really have this issue. I wonder, though, if this is somehow linked to the advertisement making you feel bad, vs the great "Dannon" ad imagined on the last page making men feel good. Is this a commonality that a lot of advertising geared towards women makes them feel bad about themselves? Very little, if any, advertising geared towards men is like that. Men aren't "guilted" into things very easily. But if we feel like a stud for drinking
x beer or wearing
y cologne, then hell yeah we'll buy it. Our motivators are way askew to womens.
Does this tie into the "bad boy" concept of getting women? That secretly women WANT to be looked down upon? Or perhaps more realistically, do women RESPOND better to negative pressures (or not better, but more aptly... you know what I mean?!). This could be an interesting psyche issue.
