That's it, of course. But I'll take it one step one further ..... one should (from experience) begin to see when not to bother making an effort in the first place.
An example: I've never once chased a
"hard to get" woman to find she was worth having. One might argue that she uses that ploy merely as a tool but such games reveal a character twitch and the games she plays never stop no matter how long you put up with her. Once you've "got her" she'll begin
"the jeoulsy game". My advice is "if she's tough to get - she'll be tough to live with."
The same theory goes with other things in life.
If it's tough to get - it'll be tough to keep/maintain. Not all of them (naturally) but many. The trick is to know which ones ae worth having and which ones are not.
