Alot of things may seem like good ideas, are you at this point not knowing how she'll emotionally react, willing to put this relationship on the line?

I would think not since you are engaged.

This kind of thing is more reserved for people who are more comfortable with themselves and are really 'in-tune' with their mate. Obviously she doesnt know how this will emotionally effect her, or she doesnt know that you are going to be able to handle it once it begins. Brushing aside a multitude of other possible outcomes, more of them are negative than positive.
