i did searches on a couple interlibrary databases and couldnt find anyplace that gets and archives that newspaper.
but it was a wire service story, so finding various fragments of the piece is easy enough--and there is a series of related pieces from within a few days of the article's appearance that canvass a much broader cross-section of african-american musicians (for the most part)--all of whom agree entirely with louis. i think there's one in the my times around 24 september 1957.
they are available online as .pdfs, which is why i didnt paste anything here.


your best bet would be to see about tracking down microfilm via interlibrary loan through an academic or good public library.
