I must recommend Daft Punk's first album "Homework". IMHO, they've never been able to match the pure genius of that sound. Also, I'll second Vitalic's "OK Cowboy", especially "Poney Pt. 1". I heard that in a mix by Slam (whom I also recommend); absolutely wonderful.

I spin house music as a hobby, so I get myself into as many sub-genres of it as I can handle. I have a soft spot for French house, so anything by Alan Braxe (& Fred Falke), Etienne de Crecy, Mike 303, anybody related to Daft Punk, etc. Getting a little into the Tribal area, I've been really into Alan Barratt. This guy knows how to fuse a funky bassline with tribal elements very well. If you want something a bit more minimal, check out Jesper Dahlback (at least some of his stuff) or anything on the Svek label. Riding the new electro wave, I prefer the stuff by Carl A. Finlow (a.k.a Silicon Scally). It's not all pop-y; more subdued but very nice.

Moving to techno (similar to house in many ways), I recommend people like Alexander Kowalski, Michael Mayer (or anything on the Kompakt label), Zeta Reticula (a.k.a Umek), Jake Fairley (Canadian!!), Trentemoller (good mix of tech and house) and Antoine Clamaran (he moves between genres, but still makes good tech).
