My pugs like to bark at dogs / horses on the TV. They will even run into the closet that is behind the wall where the TV is looking for the other animals.
What size dogs do you guys have? I had heard that being able to discern 2d images was a trait of small dogs only and that large dogs are just incapable of recognizing anything in a 2D projection.
