No, that can't be it. I suspect it has more to do with WC being released first. A lot of people don't know this, but Starcraft is the second best selling console game of all time, falling short only of The Sims. Starcraft has sold 9.5
million copies. Warcraft 3: Reight of Chaos has sold 3m and Frozen Throne has sold 1m. Even letting alone reviews, which clearly prefer Starcraft over Warcraft, sales figures don't lie. Starcraft made battlenet. Starcraft has been on IGN's Top Games of All Time not once but twice (2003 and 2005), and the articules included language like, "best real time strategy game ever made."
