it is difficult to seperate the man from the primary issue of his day. But you are correct in the fact his ideal is color blind.

The NAACP is NOT exclusively "black".

I never said it was "exclusively" black. But the organization is but a shadow of what it used to be.

I agree with Ace about Colin Powell, Condi Rice, and Clarence Thomas. I would add Norm Mineta, Elaine Chao, Eric Shinseki, and Alberto Gonzalez as other prominent persons of color making it in a white man's world.

I specifically included people in the Republican Party who have been called sell-outs by so called black leaders. They deserve a special mention in my view.

I agree. In my view there is nothing wrong with Affirmative Action. However, King would be a strong advocate of individuals setting high personal standards.

If he were truly to get a ton of "pootie tang" (lots of women in a sexual way) then he would be a hypocrite and a person of poor character for his infeidelity. Especially as a man of God. Tang (the orange drink) has been discontinued).

I could careless about who he had sex with.
However, there is a difference between having sex as responsible consenting adults and irresponsible sex often between or involving teenagers.
Children born out of marrige is a problem. Unprotected sex with multiple partners is a problem. Fathers not supporting their children is a problem. One would not be a hypocrit to address these issues while enjoying responsible sex with multiple women or men.

If he were alive today, he would be dismissed by the majority of the TFP (atheists, non-Christians) as well as rididuled for his faith in God and as a relgious person.

King never forced his religion on anyone. He became vocal about the Veitnam war, he was taken seriously on that issue. He was intelligent and articulate. He would have the respect of most thoughtful people regardless of their religious beliefs or non-beliefs.

If he were alive today, he would probably be saddened by how many people abuse his message and his Dream.

Either the glass is half empty or half full. Even in his final days when he knew the threat of death was high, King still looked at the positives. In one of his final speeches he said that he might not get there with us, but he had seen the promise land. We still have work to do, but we have made great progress. He would still fight the fight, but he would love the progress we have made.
