well you need a camera with manual settings. #1. using the automatic settings will give you a flash which will blind the eye and make the picture all white.
what i usually do is set it to manual, no flash, but short exposure(time the shutter stays open?... something like 1/250) and increase the light(F i think?) that way you have a very short time picture with lots of lights comming in which will make the picture just right. (slow exposure might be good but you'll get some blurring.
now i know my words might not be perfect but i hope you get the idea? maybe someone with better understanding of photography will be able to help.
