I know this is probably either a "You dumbass duh...." or a "Not really but show how computer dumb you are." type question.
I have done everything suggested in this thread and I have even done linksys help and I still get "cable not connected"..... could it be I need to load SBC into my computer? (I haven't done that and perhaps that is what is missing.) You know the disk the IP gives you so your computer can read their modem and such.
My rationale is this, I'm hooked up but now my computer doesn't know what it is reading as far as the internet. Or does the router take care of that?
