| The best thing about this film, besides the fact that it start Fred Ward (who I think is very underrated, Maria DiMaderios (sp?) and Uma, is that is uses the photographer Brassai as an influence on many of the compositions.
 I really love Brassai.

Pair this with the fact that I am a very big fan of Henry Miller.

You are right, the film is not perfect, there a number of flaws BUT it's a nice little gem nonetheless. I haven't seen it in years but I did reread Tropic of Cancer recently.
