Babe's mom has called me everything except the word "son," including telling me that I'm already a member of the family. And that's cool, not "pretty f'd up" in spite of our being young.
It's all in the motivation. She doesn't do it to wrangle me, she does it because she feels like I'm getting there. That is very warming, definitely not fucked up.
