Everything sage said, and then afterwards *Gently* exfoliate (like with those plastic puffs), slather on neosporin (don't wait for bumps, just do it as a matter of course), and afterwards use a product like Tendskin. Do this on a daily basis for 3-4 days.

I have a lot better results with waxing than with shaving, btw.

This is one of the reasons I've done the laser hair removal, but until that's all done (takes a while), I still also have to deal with this stuff. I'm gonna try out sage's cream rec. for sure.
