30 Rock & 20 Good Years
I'm being lazy and combining both of these shows in one thread, if there is enough discussion I can split it up later.
Both of these shows premiered back to back yesterday. Firstly I assumed that 30 Rock was going to be a 1 hour dramedy sort of like Studio 60 so I was suprised to find out it was actually a 1/2 hour comedy.
Anyhow, neither of these shows really held my attention. Maybe its not targetted towards my age group (i'm 34), but I just didnt see a whole lot funny with the show.
20 good years could be a good premise but I have trouble with John Lithgow, he is just so over the top in every scene that it kinda ruins it for me. He never seems to be out of his 3rd rock from the sun character. Whereas I've seen him in movies playing other roles and he does quite well.
I give two thumbs down (one for each show), I may give them each one more chance but I was distinctly umimpressed by both of these shows.
