A Night With Harry, Carrie, and Garp

Skogafoss and I went to this charity event called A Night With Harry, Carrie, and Garp.

It was a reading by Stephen King, JK Rowling, and John Irving to benefit two charities. The night that we went Stephen King was introduced by Kathy Bates, his #1 fan. King reads from his short story that was in Stand By Me about the pie eating contest, John Irving reads from A Prayer For Owen Meany, and JK read from Harry Potter, The Half Blood Prince.

Quote:
New York, NY – August 9th, 2006 -- For those book lovers and fans world-wide who could not attend the star-studded literary event at Radio City Music Hall last week, “AN EVENING WITH HARRY, CARRIE & GARP” will now be available to watch free of charge in its entirety for two days only. On Thursday, August 10 and Friday, August 11 MSN will stream the event at http://video.msn.com/v/us/v.htm, and beginning on Saturday,

August 12 until the end of the month, highlights will be available on demand. MSN will enable viewers to make contributions to The Haven Foundation and Doctors Without Borders.
(Anyways, I thought I'd share it here and ask that if anyone can save the stream it would be much appreciated. I haven't had the time to put it together to do so.)

If you could put together 3 literary people on the same stage who would you want to see together and what would you want them to read?

For me I'd like to see, Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are), Dr. Suess (Green Eggs & Ham), and Richard Bach (Illusions).
