Yes, they have come up alot recently with all the Da Vinci Code tie-in tv programs. Normally billed as a modern day Illuminati running the world in (near) secret.
Members just say that they can discuss issues without fear of the media.
My guess is that if you have heard of them from the press, they don't have that much control!
