2.2 added some powerful application level security but the first couple releases were on the aggressive side. Codecs gave it a real headache.  The workaround was easy enough - add exceptions or just uncheck HIPS and/or ABB - but the false positives freaked out quite a few users. The current release is much more cooperative.
