I saw the first one and thought it was alright. The mastermind was just a (fairly) random guy though, which made it sort of annoying. Still, the stuff that happened was great.

Yup, ripper as in good. Or 'You beauty' or ... Wait, scrap that. I liked the mastermind. It was interesting how it was under our noses the whole time. I hope the doctor, Lawrence, in coming movies becomes Jigsaw - because Spoiler:
John aka Jigsaw, has inoperable cancer and kinda has to die soon. because his wife leaves him or something. It's possible because Jigsaw does his little games on people for reasons. Like the girl who had the reverse-bear trap. She was the only survivor, and stopped taking drugs because of that. You can see Jigsaw's inspiration, and how someone could turn into him.
Although I must agree with docbungle - some of the acting was crap.
But done for a million (aussie, so like 750,000 or less US) dollars, it was really well done.
