Help for my daughter's laptop?
The following is an excerpt from an e-mail that I received from my first amendment this evening:
Quote:
I was playing around on the internet, watching music videos, killing time, that sort of thing, and it started yelling at me about script errors, and then it locked up, and i couldn't even bring up the start menu so i shut it off, and now it won't turn back on, and all of my notes from classes are on it, and the letters i wrote to you and ****** and all the things that i used all the time were on it, and now its dead and i don't know what to do, i'm having a mini nervous breakdown, and the way i'm typing is the way i'm thinking and i'm seriously freaking out. I sent an email to the Compaq people and they said they were directing it elsewhere and didn't tell me where or when they would get back to me and i need my freshman seminar notes to do an assignment and i can't get to them. And I'm about to jump out my window. And i can't even get to my window cause my printer's in the way! I don't know if the campus computer people will help because it's not a gateway, which is what i'm using at the moment and it has a squeaky spacebar and it's driving me further insane, and they probably won't even be open untill tuesday and i need my computer on tuesday, and i don't know what else i can try, i've tried letting it sit and cool down, and it still didn't work, i unplugged it and tried to run it off of battery power and that didn't work, so i plugged it back in and took out the battery, and that didn't work, and I don't know what i'm doing! help me

She has a HP laptop, and runs Windows XP.
There is no telling what she got into on the internet, so my guess is she picked up a bug. Thoughts? Recommendations?
