They could have had it up on sale as a refurbished item - or an "open box" item but it's odd that this wouldn't be apparent to you. Of course, honestly, I think that someone somewhere is missing something...this is just too odd to be under the listing of Best Buy being dishonest...and yeah, Small Claims court would be a waste of time against Best Buy - but I'm sure the FBI would LOVE to investigate them considering they've been pissing people off a lot over the last few years.
However, I purchased my laptop (and a whole bunch of other items) from Best Buy (HP Pavilion ZT3340US) and I bought the 3 year warranty with it...I registered with HP.com and I received an email saying that I only had a few months left till my warranty expired (the standard 1 yr. warranty). The HP.com site was only following the basic precedure...
Sounds like a small error somewhere and someone else being misinformed or perhaps a clerical error...I don't know. Keep this thread updated. I'd love to know the outcome on this one.
