He's also doing a stellar job as a Queen's Bench Magistrate on "This Is Wonderland" even though the show itself is a bit uneven. It could be brilliant, except it uses stereotypes too readily and it's a huge trap.
Still, back on topic, his portrayal of "dad" should win him a Juno or something because he's amazing. It can't be easy to stay that "in character," especially playing a role as someone with so few social skills.
But, as it has already been said, the high-brow and intellectual humour woven into the small town banter is so seamless and so unexpected, it just hits all the right chords. Truly one of the few real Canadian television gems.
But I don't think you'll need to talk to Peterson, I think the show now has a life of its own, and it won't be going anywhere soon if it keeps getting the viewership it is.
