With the 2.5M ad it would have ran and been possibly talked about in casual conversation by people. Since it got cut, they've gotten news coverage about it. News sites link to the video, talk radio discusses it, we talk about it on message boards, etc. The removal of the ad generated a lot more buzz that they would have had. There is no way they would have generated this much publicity if the second ad had run.
