Sorry to resurect the old post, but I'm considering replacing the windows in my home as well. The house is at least 55 years old and has been in the family that long. Needless to say the never-replaced windows are out of date and failing. You should see my utility bills.
I'd like to get some energy efficient, double pane windows for the house. I have 14 windows of various sizes. Let's say 13 because one of the windows is 11' x 6', and it was replaced only 11 years ago. How much should I expect to put inot this? I can afford a maximum one time payment of about $15,000, but not much more. I'd like to spend maybe $4,000- $9,000 (so I can put the rest in my daughters growing college fund).
Thanks for the help.
