well, yeah, it really depends how she said it.
I tell my friends all the time "I'll kick your ass," or "I'll kill you, mothafucka!" but I say it in a joking way.
Sometimes when they are being assholes I'll tell them to shut up and if they don't stop I'll threaten to hurt them but again, I'm not really being serious, and I think they know that too, it just gets the point across that they are being annoying.
They do the same stuff back too, yesterday a girl said she'd castrate me in my sleep... obviously I would have flipped out if I thought she was serious, but when someone is laughing when they say something like that they reallly mean it.
I would never talk that way with someone who isn't my friend though, because I know my friends can tell when I'm kidding but a stranger might not know if I am serious or not. I don't think my friends would do that either.
Now, if this girl came at your with a knife or gun and said "I'm going to kill you," then I'd take it serious. But if she said it playfully I don't think it was a real threat to your life.
