Awesome book.
King is...well the King of the anti-climax. Don't get me wrong, I have read 95% of his books and loved almost all of them, but the man just can't write a good ending.
What I liked best about the stand were all the diversions and weird tangents he went off on describing in detail all the minor characters and their lives and deaths. I found it all quite fasinating.
BTW, if you have only seen the miniseries you are really missing out, I highly recommend this book to everyone. I hope to go back and read it again after I finish the Dark Tower (on page 120 of book 7), and see how the Stand ties in with Roland and his Ka-tet.
