Mack isn't a good coach. He's lost dang near every big game he's been in since he's been in Texas.
Losing to OU the last 5 years...
Losing to Colorado when they had the Big 12 South handed to them a couple years back.
Losing to Arkansas two years in a row.
Mack is a good recruiter that's about it. And the more and more he keeps losing to OU the more and more that good talent will stop going to Texas.
Case in point he lost that Adrian kid to OU because it's becoming very evident Texas doesn't make the best usage of the talent they have. Texas talent wise is easily as talented as OU but they are coached in such a haphazard manner it makes me wonder some times.
The only thing that Texas would lose be getting rid of Mack is a good smooth talking offseason coach. They wouldn't lose a premier football mind. Frankly I'm kind of curious as to see what would happen if Steve Spurier showed up in Austin. A good recruiter and a coach with a good football mind. Heck Spurier would be perfect because he would also likely be able to tap a market OU isn't able to influence and that would be Florida. Can you imagine how good Texas would be if they started getting some of the best players in Texas and some of the better players in Florida.
