I remember seeing this stat before (though it was 50%) used as an example of how stats can be manipulated. Since the divorce rate doesn't count people who get married multiple times any differently then those who stay together it makes it look like a larger segement of the population is really getting divorced when in reality it tends to be the same smaller segment getting divorced more often.
If you weren't sure its good that you waited, but don't let other peoples failures dictate your future.
