Why couldn't the Big East just let Miami go, then go recruit a school to take their place. As far as I know, Notre Dame is still an independant as far as football goes, but they are already in the Big East in basketball. I really don't know how these things work, but I do know with the Irishs' popularity the Big East would probably be better off than they were with Miami.
