You might want to just reformat the computer and then install the above programs and then limit the kids accounts so they re unable to download and then personally download safe games that they can play.

What he said... and make sure you back up any stuff they want. Also, if it's an XP box set up non-administrative accounts for the kids. That way a virus will not be able to install itself. As for games, try Shockwave.com, candystand.com, nickelodeon.com, and cartoonnetwork.com. Shockwave games come virus free and can be played in the internet browser. As for a popup blocker, use mozilla or firefox. If they don't feel like fooling around with it just install the google toolbar. Pop-up blocking and a search feature all in one.
