I haven't played FF X-2 myself, but by light-hearted, maybe he means it's like Kingdom Hearts? I was really disappointed with Kingdom Hearts given all the changes (I missed the turn-based fighting of old Final Fantasies, and it was a bit too "kiddy" for me as there wasn't much to be serious about). So maybe he means "kiddy."
