for computer games.. the first thing I do is change resolution and controls. Always always always check out the controls first... mainly because I hate using WASD as I prefer ESDF.. heh, but aside from that I do it so I always know what I'm attempting to do. Consoles I reserve to RPGs, fighters, puzzlers, and the like. A controller can only have so many buttons in the first place. Of course anyone that wants to complain about button configs.. I challenge you to a game of smash brothers melee. Why? Because I'll challenge anyone just to play.
(oh and because the moves are quite simplistic)
