Life under the microscope
We live in a culture where everyone spends so much time creating an image for other others to consume. The lives of celebrities are exponentially worse than ours in this manner. Perspective is such a hard thing to find in any of our lives. How can one find perspective when every moment is dictated by a concern about how it will be perceived by a mass public? A career and livelihood in acting/entertaining demands one to suspend humanity in a way that is unfathomable to me. It is for this reason that I would consider a life in public service in politics to be something that I could not pursue. Though who knows what sacrifices I will be willing to make in the future?
