He MADE Spartacus, both the character and the film. Though his character's name escapes me, it is one of the best ever - the bold coward pushed just a bit too far.
I guess that means that, once Kirk Douglas goes, that's everyone of note in the movie.
For god's sake, let us all sit upon the ground and tell sad stories of the death of kings.
