i agree with everyone go for it and make the first move
as a shy person i can tell you that i don't like to open up to other people unless they show an intrest in me i hate talking about myself because i think it is imbaracing to do that and when you are going to go talk to someone what else do you talk about but yourself to an extent
i think that you will find shy people are the best people because they tend to be very modest
