April 26, 2003 I think I followed a friend here, I don't remember.

 

'02 or '03 I think.

 

Trying to calculate... in May of '03 I traveled to Chicago and met up with Spectre, Jumping Jesus and Shesus. I had already been involved for a little while by then. Must have been autumn '02 or early winter '03 that I followed that Fark link. Maybe even summer '02?

OK. Went to the archive. Shows my join date as 4/19/03. Hmmm. And I was heading out for meet ups in May, 03. Precocious.

 

I definitely found TFP during my freshman year of college. Since the site didn't exist before 2002, it must've been sometime during the spring semester of that year. I couldn't come up with an exact date. I would doubt that I have the "oldest" still-active TFP account, but I've been around a loooooooong time.

Remember, grumpy, that forum's join date only goes back as early as 4/18/2003. TFP4.0 went live on April 18, 2003, so no one was registered before that. Halx has an earlier join date on TFP4.0, but I think he hacked that in. TFP1-3 are lost to the cold dark of the internet (and erased servers, and everything else), so there's no way to check when you registered for any of those, which you obviously did.

 

Join date on v4 was April 19 2003, the day the old site was reborn. Before that, I was a member since 1999 and active participant since 2000.

 

Hmmm, cynth is calling January 20, 2002 the "first" date that TFP existed (10 year anniversary thread and all). How are you counting back to '99?

 

Yeah, I remember the crashes of 2 and 3. The withdrawal scarred me.

Fair is fair though. It was and is the purview of the administration and moderators. If someone was a mouthy, outspoken woman *referring to self* and chose to tell someone higher on the food chain that they were not correct... And get into a down and dirty verbal spar with them on mIRC... *blinks innocently* Then that is the potential result. Even if said mouthy hussy regretted it immediately. *apologies if he sees this*

There are some names mentioned here that bring up old memories. My former handle shall not be posted outright but a search of the archived site with "Angel's eyes"... Or even pulling it up with a site: search on google would potentially put it out there.

Nah. Killed the persona. It's there. Outside of old friends knowing it is me... I'd rather leave the handle and that life behind. Another time. Another place in life and all that.
