    Dexter (watch with wife)
Californication (by my own damned self)
    Alphas (watch with daughter)
    Grimm (watch with daughter)
    Bones (w/ wife)
    Walking Dead (w/ wife)
Being Human ('Murkin version, with wife) I like this version as well as I liked the BBC version when I first saw it.
The wife watches a few others, and I'll see them if I'm there, but I don't count them.

Occasionally watch: Squidbillies, Archer, various Seth McFarlane cartoons, Warehouse 13 ( lost track last season...), was watching Breaking Bad and lost track of it, will probably catch up on Netflix

    Gonna miss, somewhat: Eureka, House

I have a Netflix subscription. It's pretty great. I don't use it much, but I enjoy what I do watch.

I've recently found myself enjoying Community, which isn't getting a lot of love here it seems. They just added the second and third seasons, which pleases me since it means I can catch up before the fourth season starts next month.

V and I are working our way through Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I missed these shows on their first time around because I'm bad at TV (I keep forgetting when shows are on, or end up with other plans and unable to watch). I enjoyed other Joss Whedon projects though, mainly Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog, so it made sense to go back to them. I'm enjoying them so far, although I'm really irritated that Spike turned into such a pussy.

I occasionally watch an episode or two of Stargate: SG1. It's alright, but hasn't really caught my attention.

And as of yesterday I've started into Red Dwarf. I have happy memories about watching this show as a kid, as my parents were big into BBC programming. There's rumours of a new series coming up, so I figure now is a good time to start working through the originals.

Just finished season 1 of Boss - excellent show but now I have to wait until season 2 hits DVD and it just bloody started on whatever the hell network it airs on! (don't care enough to check right now, can't watch it anyway).
Oh well, looking forward to finishing season 2 of Walking Dead one of these days soon enough. I saw a spoiler about Shane but hardly surprising considering what happens and when it does in the limited portion of the original graphic novel I have read.

Don't really watch much prime time stuff. Mostly just channel surf till I find something that catches my interest. But there are a few shows I'll tune in.
    Dr. Who
    Mythbusters
    Svengoolie
    Comic Book Men

My television doesn't work but I do Hulu. I didn't use the tv when it did work.
Via Hulu I follow Bones and Castle. I watch Grimm but I don't like it; I just get homesick for Portland and they have some pretty great on location shots.
What I really love are the British shows they are offering. Funny funny stuff.

I was watching a series called The Book Group. It's a little racy. There was an episode in which one fellow is being personal assistant to a soccer player and is traveling abroad. He is propositioned for sex by a Spanish footballer who doesn't speak English and accidentally accepts because he doesn't speak Spanish. Anyway, once he discovers his error, he becomes intrigued and decides to have a go. I swear I was unprepared for what I saw and had I realized that it was going to more or less show the two men having at each other grunting and everything I would not have watched it when my sons best friend was over.

LOL, well, unlike America TV..the rest of the world isn't as prudish. They have no issues with racy scenes. Case in point. Janet's "Wardrobe Malfunction" during the 38th Super Bowl had some Americans up in arms..while the rest of the world looked at it and went.."so?"

I saw that and thought it was part of the routine. Still don't know why people had such an issue with it.

    'People' didn't.
    The FCC did.
    The media did.
The rest of us didn't notice until they pointed it out--in slo-mo at that.

Nothing like a little drummed up drama to boost ratings.

I watch TV firstly because I enjoy the content. In re: anything on the premium channel Showtime, I have insider access and if I like the show, I'll watch it.

Historically, my favourite show of all time is the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. I like it for the the basic reasons I like any show--high quality acting, writing, direction. In this case, it is of the science fiction genre so that's a bonus. But the soundtrack by Bear McCreary, then only in his 20's, was a character unto itself and marked the first time that I really started to listen to how the so-called 'background music' could help shape a narrative.

Two other all-time faves: China Beach - a Vietnam war saga with a female nurse (a young Dana Delany) as it's central character. I tend to lean towards TV with strong female characters. An entirely male cast leaves me cold.

Twilight Zone - started watching it with my dad at age four. Nostalgia certainly plays a part in why I love it so--but I doubt the Zone marathons which continue 50 years later have anything to do with that. Tight writing, pro actors (more than a few who went on to great fame), good direction, timeless tales--all made it a show for the ages.

Now, I tend to tune in to escapist-type fare or stuff I can watch with other ppl in my home. I watch nothing on network TV--can't imagine ever doing that again.

Dexter - Was remarking to spouse that we've been tuning in to watch Michael C. Hall, the anti-hero of Dexter, for 12 years straight between his starring gig on HBO's Six Feet Under and his current gig on/as Dexter on Showtime, now in season 7.

Homeland - Edgy, takes risks, does the unpredictable in a plausible way. I'd put protagonist Claire Danes in the same category as MCH--I'd follow her just about anywhere on television.

The Daily Show - I've realized part of why I like this show is that I get Jon Stewart's 30 y.o. pop-culture references--he and I are close in age--but besides that, his show does indeed have 'The Best Fucking News Team' on television.

American Horror Story - scares the bejesus out of both me and my spouse. Season 2 returns 10/17 on FX. Has tight writing and an excellent cast including a few faves of mine--Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson & Frances Fisher.

The Walking Dead: Pure escapism --a visit to the zombie apocalypse. I very much like the work of SFX master Greg Nicotero. His zombie creations are unparalleled on cable TV. ***The writing can sometimes be less than stellar but Bear McCreary scores it (see: Battlestar Galactica)!

Up until this season I enjoyed Sons of Anarchy--now it is just bugging me. I'll watch it until season's end, then decide about the future. They are shoehorning in things that should be given some expository screentime, they've turned the women leads into cat-fighting caricatures, and the latest kill of a lead character was done hamfistedly and as a clunky plot device.

There is plenty that I used to watch and occasionally watch with my kids. My son has a real taste for the older series like MASH and Twilight Zone. I have absolutely no interest in the "reality tv" series. I wanted to watch Walking Dead but the franchise is overly commercialized. I would have to pay for cable in order to get the channel that airs it or I have to pay to download from iTunes.
I watched the Premiere on Fearnet and it looked good. I saw the other episode that was aired for free online and didn't like it.
They did not act like people trying to survive, they acted like they were on a camping trip. How did they live so long?
Finally I caught up using my Netflix account, yes it costs me money but I am not paying to see one specific thing. The Netflix gets used a lot more than the tv would.
Dexter I did like. I was able to watch two or three seasons on my NF account and I like way he watches people and tries to mimic and fit in. I think he actually started developing a sort of feeling toward the people he was close to.
