You say that like it's a cross you have to bear.

    I can relate to that.

But try it with something that doesn't have any real utility.

I'm wondering if this is my husband's MBTI.

This reminds me that I am supposed to email him links. He's completely forgotten whatever he was.

INTP. I used to be INTJ, and have also tested as INTP and INFJ depending on what my life has been like recently. I'll be curious to see if it changes at all now that I have finished grad school and will be working with people daily. Most of my patients assume I am an extravert, as well as newer friends, so I know my introversion has decreased over the years.

It's been about 8-9 years since I was formally tested, but I think I came out as an ENFJ. According to Myers-Briggs that reads out as:

Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership

I'm not going to pay 5 clams to take the damn test "again"...ENTP I almost always come out to. (a few times, I'll go "J")
ENTP - The Visionary (the same site Plan9 showed)

Slightly different than the variety I've seen...

Fairly good description, may even show a valid reason for my yabbering trap. (and a slob sometimes)

My big issue with the MBTI is that it doesn't have names for the negative personality types we encounter on a regular basis working in cubicle land:

    The Brown-Noser
    The Pedantic Cocksucker
    The Responsibility Teflon Guy
The Group Work Smoke Bomb Ninja
    etc.

I've seen this before (maybe elsewhere on this thread or another on TFP).

I'm a fairly solid INFP. This chart might help explain why I've stumbled every time I tried to convince myself to "sell out" and just "go for the money."

On a positive note, it's encouraging to note that it's realistic for me to make as much as $60,000! (I find it amusing—or maybe not—that the chart begins at more than $10,000 higher than I've ever made in a single year.)

EDIT: Oh, I just realized it's household income.

My SO is an ENFJ, so we're good. :)

I'm a little surprised that INTJ's (my group) do so well in terms of income.

But then, I'm blinded by my own low self-expectations. My own individual income (let alone household income) is admittedly well off the top of this chart.

I don't know, I could see you as a judge.
You have a strong sense of justice but the compassion to temper it.

    INFJ PERSONALITY

The INFJ personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population, but they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As Diplomats (NF), they have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is the accompanying Judging (J) trait – INFJs are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting positive impact.

INFJs tend to see helping others as their purpose in life, but while people with this personality type can be found engaging rescue efforts and doing charity work, their real passion is to get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all.
    HELP ME HELP YOU

INFJ personalityINFJs indeed share a very unique combination of traits: though soft-spoken, they have very strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea they believe in. They are decisive and strong-willed, but will rarely use that energy for personal gain – INFJs will act with creativity, imagination, conviction and sensitivity not to create advantage, but to create balance. Egalitarianism and karma are very attractive ideas to INFJs, and they tend to believe that nothing would help the world so much as using love and compassion to soften the hearts of tyrants.
