It looks like we might be getting into breakup (that's what we call spring up here).
It snowed yesterday but most of it has melted off so I'm thinking that was Mama Natures way of reminding us she is still in charge.
This has been a rough winter.

Our much needed rain, predicted as scattered thunderstorms, hasn't developed.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

We had 2 nice spring days.
Now it's 39F, raining and temperature is falling. It will change over to snow tonight. And another snow event is coming Monday night into Tuesday with more potential for actual accumulation.
I love snow and winter sports but this shit just gets old in the middle of April.
And I don't want the kids home for a snow day Tuesday! They just had a week off.

If the clouds clear this afternoon we should hit 88F.
That sound crazy but we were hitting the high 80s
    the last week of March.

Yeah that's about our typical hottest day of summer.
    Rarely do we hit 90F.

And the rain turned to snow sooner than expected today:

Tons of rain this April. More so than usual.
Guess I'll get a lot of flowers.

Upper 40s to low 50s during the day, high 20s at night.
    Breakup is dragging it out.
It hasn't rained at all so there is a lot of dust from the melting snow, frozen car exhaust, and dog poop.
    Sinuses not happy.

Winter storm watch for Monday night into Tuesday.
6-8 inches of heavy wet snow expected.
Our kids only had 1 snow day so far this winter, I would bet Tuesday is going to be a snow day.

Snow day and so much more.
We got 14 inches of very heavy wet snow that plastered itself to everything including trees and utility lines.
    Massive power outages ensued.
We were without power for 2.5 days. Nights were in the 20's.
We have a portable generator I ran in the morning and evening to warm the house up but I won't leave it running overnight for safety reasons so the house was really cold when we got up in the morning.

Here's the view from our back window Tuesday morning. It snowed another 4 inches after that. Those are our lilacs sprawled over the back porch, One made it, one didn't. Ripped out right to the roots by all the weight.
    It was a rough week.

Summer has arrived with a vengeance. High 103° today, last night's low only got down to 84°
I like this song "In the Cool,Cool, Cool of the Evening" from a 1950s musical, but we aren't even getting any cool in the evenings.
