I saw the news reports, I can't imagine the frustration and sense of helplessness.

It's up in the 30s (F) which after two weeks of the negative teens and twenties is really nice, except like every time the temp has gone up this winter, it's fucking snowing.
    Fun, fun, fun.

I'm sorry man, living where a foot of snow shuts everything down is so frustrating.
It drove me nuts in NJ.

So the weather has done a serious yo-yo thing and which does nasty things to my sinuses.
My brain is not taking it well.
Working my way to a migraine.
    This sucks.

about to get another snow in few days
but it will likely melt off from the following rains.

I don't think I'll have to put a cover on my car this time.

it's the chilly temps that are a factor for me
having to walk my dog in them...brrr in the morning

That's what my wife said too.
She watched from the hotel room with our one daughter who isn't into football.
I wore my deer hunting gear (skipped the camo coat).
    I never got cold.

We're in our typical Houston weather for February, cold overnight, mid 70s highs.

What's "cold" for an overnight in Houston?
    I've never lived down south.

That depends on the strength of the cold fronts. Taking away the exceptions, about 40F to 45F overnight in February & March. Because we're so close to the warm coastal weather, and we're barely outside of the tropical zone, our winters can vary greatly. Houston is also very spread out. On the northern border we get a fair number of frost warnings; where I live and further south hitting 32F or lower is extremely rare.
