Is it ever going to stop raining? Per the Doppler radar weather map the main thunderstorms have passed.

I have two large 50+ year old oak trees in my front yard. They have shallow root systems, i.e. saturated ground + high winds = blown over oak trees. At least we missed the really high winds yesterday that caused problems south & southeast of us in La Porte, Friendswood, & Brazoria County.

I want some rain. It's been very dry, but humid... As only Florida can be. Sunny, too warm. But overall kinda nice. I'll miss it in a month, I'm sure.

Sunny, cool at night, near freezing. Warm today with the sun. Pants feel good in the morning. But a little warm in the afternoon.

The damned rainstorms kept developing most of yesterday until late in the afternoon. It's overcast & humid, but at least it's cool and not raining (so far ).

Unseasonably warm and nice in Colorado. I rarely drive my motorcycle to work, after DST ends. It's sitting in the parking lot.

Intellicast is predicting snow on Thur and my daughter already has 2 ski days in.

We're under a flood warning, and it's supposed to continue raining the rest of the week. Boo. :(

Rained here quite a bit on Saturday (as in several inches in the span of a couple of hours), and it's been terrible because it's the time of year when all the drains are clogged with leaves. There was some flooding--hell, even the MAX flooded in PDX.

We had some watering pooling on the back patio, some of which reached the weep holes in the bricks. it wasn't that bad.

For the most part the sewage ran off into the various bayous. If the news reports are correct, the only problem might be for people who come into contact with the bayou water (which won't be me).

    The weather today is unbearable
    Bright sunshine and 113f
With the heat index. I'm staying inside and am hoping my a/c can take the heat

    It's freaking hot.
    Which for Alaska is 80F.
Yes, I know it's silly to whine about that when it's 113 in other places but I'm used to -10 and we don't have AC so there is no way to cool down.

A little break today at 92° Yesterday was 101° F real temp, not heat index. We usually keep the a/c set at about 76 - 77 during the day and then turn it down some at night, as we both like a cool bedroom.
