The child came home, weighed her options, and decided to stick it out here for the crusty french bread. Dinner is back on.

Last night we went to a nearby town for Italian. I had linguine misto mare. It was really very good.

Beef short ribs braised in red wine, pomegranate molasses, and various Middle Eastern spices; pilaf of faro with zereshk (barberries) and almonds; steamed green beans with carmelized lemon butter (well, margarine, anyway-- kosher reasons); artichokes with garlic butter (margarine); and chicken saffron soup with three beans, sunchokes, cabbage, and red quinoa. Wines will be a 2005 Brunello di Montalcino and Hidden Legends King's Mead.

The worst "thai" food I've had in a long time. I was sick before we made it to the parking lot.
I've had terrible luck with purchased meals in the past 24 hours. HORRIBLE.
I'm going to cook for myself the next four days that S is gone. I can't take any more stomach pain.

Imperial dynasty's hot and sour soup. An all-time favorite. Loaded with tofu. And more hot than sour. Never gets old. Yum.

I made a mixture that could be used as a taco filling--black beans, sweet potato, and peppers seasoned with cumin, cayenne, and oregano. Then I made some quinoa for a side along with a quick pickle salad--cabbage, onion, and pepper.

We're working late, so we had a Junk Food Treat Dinner-- 5 Guys Burgers & Fries. Grilled cheese with mushrooms & hot sauce for me, bacon cheeseburger for Eden, fries for both of us. It was yummy, but no way I could eat like that every day.
