Is this a good place to ask for easy bachelor recipes? Methinks it would be.

I think there is another thread for recipes of all kinds, damn I can't find it. snowy may know where to find it.

I made easy recipe tonight, breaded flounder with Mac and cheese. Side fresh steamed string beads and two glasses of Cabernet to take the stress off from the day.

I had to open a bottle of wine to make the tomato sauce. Darn.

Last night hubby made a veggie stir fry with brown rice noodles. It was very good. The sauce was like a sweet chili sauce, made with ginger and marmalade.

  6. I'm making Chile Verde tonight. I'm still deciding if I want to serve it burrito style or over rice.

My wife and I got invited to the staff tasting at our local wine bar. The first Monday evening of every month the place is closed to the public and the entire staff comes in to taste that month's selections, as well as any new wines they are going to start carrying. The owner invited us to come this month and join the staff, and said she was going to buy pizza for everyone. I said that I would feed everyone in exchange for the free wine. So I have a 7lb pork shoulder on the Big Green Egg (lit at 5:30AM this morning), and I'll grill some chicken thighs later. My wife is making some cole slaw and a pie for dessert, and we are bringing a watermelon.

Boneless chicken breast with breading, fried in olive oil. Russet potatoes chopped into squares, shaken in Italian dressing with a few sliced hot peppers and baked to crispy crunch yum. Can't forget the fresh string beans with sliced almonds sprinkled on top.

This is actually a pretty lo-calorie. Under 400 calories if you eat proper portions sizes. :) Which I did not do. Love those crunchy potatoes.

Well, it was a massive hit. My wife was swearing I made way too much food. All four workers at the wine bar are scrawny petite women. But they destroyed the 7lb pork shoulder and 12 chicken thighs. I think I brought back probably 1lb of meat and there were 3 thighs leftover.

Great tasting, and we had a good time. The wine rep was still chatting with us (and pouring us wine ;) ) when the owner said she wanted to go. We started packing up the food and she goes "No, here is a key. Hang out and drink wine. Relax. Just lock up when you are done." So we did. The wine rep even grabbed a nice bottle from his car to gift to us as thanks for the food. :D

Chopped up some chicken breasts, pan fried with garlic and several spices, added it to white rice ( I was out of brown) and threw some onions and tyme in as well. Was good, but gonna try it again tomorrow night with brown rice and spinach. Gotta get my proteins in!
